MUMBAI: Rishabh Pund rejoins India yesterday after recovering from an infection .The Indian team, led by Virat Kohli, is touring to play a five – match Test series against England. The tournament will be held from August 4 to September 14. The first Test match will be played at the bridge.
The Indian team is currently training with the England county team in preparation for the Test match. In this situation, Rishabh Pund, who was treated for an infection, is back with the Indian team. After the Test Championship final, Rishabh Pund went to watch the World Cup final live. It is said that he contracted the disease from there.
Rishabh Pund, who was diagnosed with the disease on the 8th, was kept in solitary confinement in a private luxury hotel in London. During the treatment he underwent multiple tests at regular intervals. Following the conclusion that he was negative, he was allowed to join the Indian team. So he formally joined the Indian team in Durgam yesterday.
Although he has recovered from the infection, it is said that it is doubtful whether he is fit to play with full fitness. He is the first wicket-keeper to be selected for the England Test series. So it is reported that he will be given intensive training throughout this week and his physical fitness will be checked.
While he was recovering, Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun, wicketkeeper Viruthiman Saha, Abhimanyu Eeswaran, officer Dayanand Groni and others were diagnosed with the disease on the 14th. All four are said to be still receiving treatment in the UK.
